Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio: Undaunted

This afternoon, we enter the Last Quarter phase at the beginning of this very interesting year.

The Moon at 02º03’ Scorpio squares the Sun at 02º03’ Aquarius, conjunct Pluto at 01º43’ Aquarius.

At the beginning of Scorpio, we’re hungry, ready to go hard after what we want.

At the beginning of Aquarius, we leave the familiar behind. We’re heading into new, unknown territory on a search for a new thing–or a new world.

Pluto conjunct the Sun and square the Moon will take us untie deep places and dark ways to reach our goals.

Pluto has begun his almost 20 year journey through Aquarius, and is the modern ruler of Scorpio. He brings the austere mental acuity of Aquarius into the mysteries of what is hidden, lost, or denied, but may be needed to heal our souls.

The Last Quarter is a time for completing tasks. We prepared during the waxing half. At the Full Moon, we were illuminated. Now we act.

Mercury at 20º02’ Capricorn brings a pragmatic, hands-on energy into an opposition with Mars and trine with Uranus.

Mars is retrograde, moving back through late Cancer, confronting the need to understand emotions so they don’t drive us blindly. Mars remains out of bounds, which makes Mercury’s Capricorn limits more important.

Uranus in late Taurus needs us to confront limits. What real-world constraints do we face? Mercury in Cap says, ok, I see the limits. What can we do next? What is still possible?

Venus and Saturn, separating from their conjunction, remind us love and discipline are not at odds. In balance, they allow us to create sustainable relationships. We want what we love to endure.

Venus sextiles Mercury. Grabbing at what we want is not going to be satisfying. Assessing long term possibilities offers steady support.

When the future looks difficult and we’re not sure we’re up for it, we check in and realize strength is still available. There are options. We remain undaunted.
