Balsamic Moon in Capricorn: Slow and Steady

The Balsamic Moon is a time for letting go. This Capricorn Moon is not quite ready to let anything slip through her fingers, but resting along the way, taking stock, checking in–all definitely on the menu.

The Moon opposes Mars, newly direct in Cancer, the Moon’s sign. Mars takes deep breaths and stabilizes. There’s still too many feelings for Mars’ liking, but at least he’s not moving backwards. A Moon in his sign of exaltation calms Mars way down.

Mercury and Saturn, conjunct in Pisces, sextile the Moon and trine Mars. More steadiness. More calm. Sit for a bit, they say. Enjoy the view. Sure, there’s more work to be done but there’s no rush.

Chiron in Aries squares the Moon and Mars, creating a T-square. Too much edgy, pushing, driving energy is just too much, Chiron says. You’ll get more done in the long run if you don’t push too hard. We’re healing our drive to do it all. We’re healing our need to push through pain.

There’s a bright, energized sextile between Venus and Jupiter, but they’re not about constant work. Venus and Jupiter are more interested in sharing stories, maybe grilling something for dinner. Who’s the grill master? You? Ya think? OK, game on!

Venus is slowing down anyway. She’ll station retrograde in about a week.

The Moon moves toward a trine to Uranus and the South Node, sextiling the North Node. Yep, change is still in the air and on the horizon. Big change. But it’s not here today. Go ahead, take another deep breath.

The Sun entered Pisces last week, a calm, quiet energy after the heady heights of Aquarius. The light is softer now. Edges less harsh. There’s room for poetry. Dreams. Hugs.

Maybe what we’re letting go of with this Balsamic Moon is stress. We know there’s more work, more challenges, more chaos on the horizon. But for the next few days, maybe we watch the ripples on the water. And breathe. Rest. Let it go.
