Before dawn on Tuesday, October 8, we reach the waxing trine within the First Quarter phase. Like the sextile we experienced a few days ago, this is a moment of insight and (we hope) understanding, within a challenge.
The Moon left Capricorn behind to travel into Aquarius, the fixed Air sign, from which she trines the Sun in Libra, cardinal Air. These two can now talk, commune, maybe even have a mind meld. Ideas and visions are explored, developed, and shared.
If you love Air signs, this can feel beautiful and satisfying.
At the same time, we have not left the Capricorn square behind. The Moon has moved, but the Sun at 14 Libra squares Saturn at 14 Capricorn while also squaring the Nodes of the Moon.
We might still feel stuck, held back, unable to move.
Mars moving to oppose Chiron can add a feeling of injury. If our natal Mars is really active, we might want to forget negotiating or including others so we can just get it done. If we are naturally more conciliatory, we might see how an aggressive, abrasive Mars creates wounds.
The balance here is to use the Aquarius Moon’s ability to gain perspective to work on the problem at hand (Sun–Saturn square) rather than simply to escape it.
Visualizing an ideal future might feel good but is not likely to offer real-world solutions.
If we can keep the issue clearly in front of us and apply Aquarian perspective-taking, we can gain the insight promised by the waxing trine.
And there could be extra insight: In early afternoon, Venus enters Scorpio. This is not a comfortable place for her, yet she has been in underworlds before. Again, focusing on the problem at hand and bringing Scorpio’s laser sight to bear, can yield startling information.
