Overnight, we move into the Balsamic Moon phase. Opening with a semisquare from the Moon to the Sun, this last challenge asks us what we need to let go of before the New Moon.
Balsamic Moons are generally nostalgic times. There’s a feeling of things coming to an end, of the inner struggle to let go of old patterns.
This Balsamic Moon will have a very different feel, for the Sun has shifted into Sagittarius and energy is running high.
We’ve have as especially dense and shadowy Scorpio season this year. This shift into Jupiter’s Fire sign could make us feel only too ready to leave the past behind, all of it, as we gallop over the horizon into lands unknown.
With Venus and Jupiter very close now to their conjunction in Sag, it’s easy to reach for luck and ignore any signs of trouble.
So this becomes the role of the Libra Moon. A Moon in Libra never wants trouble, but is quite capable of seeing where problems might emerge. She’s also willing to sit down and have the difficult conversations.
At this Balsamic Moon, we check in.
What do we need for our ride through Sagittarian wilderness? What can we dump to lighten the load?
This Moon knows there is work to be done here because she is squaring Saturn in Capricorn, which means there is another semisquare from Saturn to the Sun.
The Sun might be ready to soar like an arrow loosed from a bow, but he’s not cleared for takeoff until Saturn checks the list. The Moon helps keeps tempers in check.
Undercurrents remind us of all we experienced in the shadows. Mercury, slowly getting up to speed, moves to trine Neptune, who is quincunx the Moon.
The mood is shifting. We can feel the air around us charged with new energy. It’s time to get ready.
