Overnight, we entered the final challenge of the Gibbous Moon, the square-and-a-half between Sun and Moon that opens the last stage before we reach the Full Moon.
The Gibbous phase can be frustrating, a sense of things going wrong outside our control. And in this difficult year, such feelings are all too common.
This month’s Gibbous Moon exemplifies so much of what we’re facing. As we entered, the Moon was @ 21 Capricorn, exactly opposite Venus and applying to conjunct Pluto.
The Moon calls our attention to this Venus–Pluto opposition, which links our feelings of vulnerability and desire to care for and protect those we love, to our understanding that the world is going through upheaval and transformation.
Not a comfortable combination.
The Full Moon will offer the chance to connect with a vision of a renewed world. To get there, we may need to explore our fears.
We’ll also want to consider what old patterns of thinking and emotion might block us from finding that new vision.
Where are we closing ourselves off? Where can we release fear and be more open to new possibilities?
Let’s acknowledge this is hard. The challenges we face are serious. Yet new ideas and ways of living are out there. Creative problem solving is the key strength of the Gibbous Moon.
Mercury in Virgo is trining Jupiter in Capricorn. Small steps can build, one on another, into something big, something new. There are glimpses out there. We can get there.
