The Sun enters Pisces on a day (here) of cloud and mist, appropriate for this sign of mutable Water.
Not the Sun’s strongest place, the brightest light of our solar system does not like being obscured. The Sun prefers to shine brilliantly, clearly, a force to reckon with.
Yet Pisces is an essential part of the journey. We enter realms where our sense of control dissolves in the uncertainty and immensity of the cosmos.
The Sun at 0 Pisces opposes my 0 Virgo Moon, so this transition feels especially uncertain to me. It will feel the same for you if it touches key places in your chart in Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini, or other ways in which you feel you’re on solid ground.
Pisces does not offer solid ground. Instead, we’re asked to accept that we live on a smallish planet spiraling through space at unimaginable speeds toward an unknown destination. This is a fascinating idea in the intellectual sense, but when we feel it, it can be destabilizing.
And that’s the challenge. Also the opportunity.
It’s time to explore boundaries. Which serve us well? Which are blocking our growth? How do we tell the difference?
I am not recommending ditching all boundaries. That would be dangerous. But Pisces highlights where we have some we might not need–and where we need some we might not have.
We’re navigating by intuition, dreams, our clair senses, our spiritual path. All notoriously suspect in this modern materialist world.
How do we learn to navigate using these alternative (and essential) skills? By engaging with them. Testing. Trying things out. Seeing what happens. In other words, using the same empirical skills we use in any situation.
If things feel a bit floaty today, that’s normal. You might love it (hello, Pisces people). You might hate it. Either way, it’s a great time to explore and learn and also, you know, float through the cosmos. As we do.
