Two events today lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s New Moon eclipse. One anchors us. One helps us fly.
At 2:36 pm EDT, Pluto stations retrograde. The fact this is a retrograde station is not all that important. The staton itself is what we need to be aware of. Imagine a massive ocean liner turning. First, everything slows down to an almost-stop. Only then does the turn begin.
We’re at the almost-stop, although Pluto has barely moved for weeks. This is a turning point, but feels more like an anchor. We’re rooted deeply in stone, compelled to notice the deepest aspects of what’s happening in the world and within us.
At 6:23 pm EDT, Mercury enters Gemini. This is Mercury’s daytime home, where they love to be. A place of scintillating thought, bright ideas, and clever quips. Here we soar, ready to speak, sing, and laugh. Here the lights are always on.
Yes, Mercury has entered they retrograde shadow, but right now, they say, fly! Spread your wings! Breathe the free air.
In the charts, these two contain all the planets. Only the asteroid Ceres and the South Node of the Moon are outside.
Pluto’s presence is especially strong as they square the Aries Moon and sextile Neptune, Venus, and Jupiter.
