Tomorrow before dawn, the Sun and Moon reach their sextile, the one that occurs within the Crescent cycle. This is an energized flow, a linking-up to communicate.
This sextile connects a Scorpio Moon to a Virgo Sun. We’re underground now. Checking out root systems. Exploring a cave or two.
The sextile will last through the morning, that’s all, as the Moon keeps moving. Check where the Moon is headed, though, and you’ll realize this underground journey means more than just getting out of the sun.
By late afternoon, the Moon will conjunct the South Node, the place of ancestors, past lives (if you use that framework), and karma (remember karma is not only personal, but also familial, cultural, and societal). The Moon opposes the North Node and Uranus in Taurus, pushing inexorably into the future. We’re deep into Shadow territory here.
By Thursday night, the Moon re-creates the fixed Grand Cross by opposing Uranus, squaring Saturn, as well as Ceres and Venus. Again, that reminder. Our emotions (Moon) and our values (Venus) are tied in to our personal and collective fate.
This is a useful balancing. The mutual signs (Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, Sag) can be a little grasshopper, a bit too easy going. The Scorpio Moon shows us a bigger reality that’s tempting, but dangerous, to ignore.
Scorpio, whose ancient ruler is Mars and modern ruler is Pluto, is fine with being ignored. Scorpio prefers the shadows.
Unseen, power can be deployed without consequences. Well, there will be consequences, of course, but the bad ones won’t fall on the Scorpio pulling the strings.
The Moon says, Watch. Listen. Feel. Where is power in play around you? Who is wielding it? To what ends?
Equally important questions relate to our own power. What kinds of power do we have? How are we using it (or giving it away)? How can we use our power effectively, in alignment with our values?
Bring power out of the shadows.
