Overnight, the First Quarter Moon in early Aquarius arrives.
We’re halfway between eclipses, deep in Scorpio territory, with Mars retrograde. It’s time to check in.
In the First Quarter, we develop the skills and capacities we need to reach our goals. In eclipse season, when we’ve set goals aside, what’s our focus?
The Moon knows what our focus will be.
In eclipse season, the Moon squares the Nodes as well as the Sun. The Moon is at the bendings, the balance point.
This Aquarius Moon is at the South bending. In this position, our focus is internal. We may be asked to let something go, make a sacrifice. We rely on intuition and spiritual insight. We seek to be of service.
In Aquarius, the Moon considers things dispassionately. Aquarius looks at the big picture. Takes the long view. Returns to core principles.
Mercury and Venus join the Sun at the South Node. Both are under the beams of the Sun, hidden in the sky. It’s difficult to separate thoughts, feelings, and ego desires.
Mercury, Sun, and Venus are with the South Node of the past, of legacies, inheritance, and lineage.
Our access to ancestral realms is strong in this Samhain season, in the sign of Scorpio, with the South Node.
Uranus is with the North Node. Fundamental structures of our physical world feel unstable. Climate change. Food insecurity. Political boundaries. Governments. All are changing.
Meanwhile, Mars Rx in Gemini squares Jupiter and Neptune. Were’e easily activated by uncertainty or disinformation. We’re prone to speak out without thinking, in aggressive ways. Or we’re subject to this kind of speech from others.
In this context, the Moon’s pivotal position becomes clear.
Come back to core principles as a touchstone. Whatever comes your way, consider its long term implications. Let ephemeral things drift away. Don’t engage with what has no meaning or impact.
Focus attention on what is vital, what you need for the long haul, what is core to your life and who you are.
