An Election Chart Focused on Jupiter: Light Up the Sky

posted in: Celestial Event | 0

These months with Jupiter in Pisces are filled with good electional opportunities. The best choices are yet to come and will arrive when Venus enters Pisces as well. There are nice options now, though. We don’t have to wait for perfection.

I’m sharing a chart set for tomorrow morning. Jupiter is on the Ascendant with the Moon in Sagittarius on the Midheaven. Jupiter rules two chart angles therefore, both the Ascendant and Midheaven.

This chart supports bringing our light into the world.

The Moon in the 10th House connects us with the public. Such a Moon can point to celebrity, literally, catching the public’s eye. This Moon also allows us to sense the mood of the public. It increases our ability to get an accurate sense of the current zeitgeist.

Jupiter is the Great Benefic, the Big Good Thing. He offers expansion, optimism, hope, and a buoyant sense that things will work out well. He sits with Neptune, who brings expansion of a cosmic kind.

Mercury is here as well, giving perceptions, ideas, and communications a magical, mystical, lyrical vibe. The Sun also in the 1st House adds energy, warmth, and a readiness to act.

Saturn and Mars are tucked away in the 12th House. The planets of delay and restriction (Saturn) and separation and conflict (Mars) are not influencing this chart.

What might this election be good for?

– Launching a creative, magical, or spiritual project into the world that you want to get noticed.

– Spellwork and ritual that aims to send creative, magical influence out into the world.

– Conducting work in which you are seeking information from the world. In other words, this could be an interesting time for divination related to world events.

– Petitioning Jupiter for support and good fortune as you develop skills you hope to share with the world over time. Elections can be used to ask for this kind of support, not only a specific action or event.

What are the downsides?

The Moon is waning and so seen as having less energy to accomplish things in the world. I don’t see this as a serious limitation in this chart because we’re early in the waning cycle and the Moon has plenty of light. Also, this Moon is moving at a good speed, ready to move our requests forward.

The Moon is out of bounds. This plus the very strong Piscean presence adds an ‘out of the box’ quality to this chart. This Moon is following their own lead, without respect to what the Sun might have in mind.

It’s good to keep this in mind, and, also not a major issue for me in this chart. After all, the Sun in early Aries is more likely to say “go for it” than put a damper on this fiery Moon. And with all the Pisces, magic is already afoot.

Some might worry about the prominence of Neptune. Of course, in traditional astrology, Neptune would simply not appear in this chart. In my view, the outer planets are too influential to omit.

You do want to be comfortable with Piscean energy to use this election. If Neptune in Pisces tends to leave you feeling anxious and confused, this might not be the best choice for you. Unless you wanted to petition Jupiter to help you connect with this magical influence in supportive, generative ways.

The first chart is set for the Eastern US time zone. You want to set the chart for your own location, with Jupiter conjunct a Pisces Ascendant and the Moon at a Midheaven in Sagittarius.

I’ve included charts set for Los Angeles, Berlin, and Sydney, so you can see how the chart needs to be adjusted.

Notice that the Berlin chart pushes the Moon into the 9th House when we keep Jupiter close to the Ascendant. The Moon is still within orb to be conjunct the Midheaven, but it’s possible this might weaken the ‘success in the world’ influence and shift a bit more into 9th House matters such as travel and learning.

Best of luck, always! If you use this chart and would like to share your results, I’d love to hear about it.
