Tonight we reach the Balsamic Moon, the last phase before the New. The Moon is semisquare the Sun, half a square, an edgy connection. We’re reminded it’s time to let go. Time to clear away before the New Moon arrives.
What are we meant to let go of this time?
The light-hearted, curious Moon in Gemini applies to conjunct Venus, and sextile Chiron and Mars. Venus, also in Gemini, shares the Moon’s optimism–along with a willingness to bend the rules if it’ll help.
Mercury, now direct in Cancer, rules the Moon and Venus. In fact, Moon and Mercury are in mutual reception, visiting each others’ homes. There’s a spirit of caring here.
Mars in Aries wants to move, get things done. Yes, this Mars rules anger, but Aries’ baseline orientation is one of action motivated by desire. See something, want something, get something. A fresh directness.
The Planets of Challenge, 2020’s signature, still stand firm: Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter in Capricorn. The Sun opposes the Capricorn group, as both sides square Eris, goddess of chaos.
What if the Moon, Venus, and Mars, informed by Chiron’s wisdom, are ready to find new solutions to old, festering problems?
For that, we need new ways to look at things.
There is so much research showing how we only perceive what we allow ourselves to believe. Not just our ideas, but our most basic sense perceptions are strongly controlled by our expectations. This really gets in the way of innovation.
At this Balsamic Moon, we’re encouraged to change up our perspectives and try on new frames, new ways of seeing what’s right in front of us.
What if the worldview we hold so firmly is not … quite … right? Can we find ways to be flexible? Are we willing to reconsider?
Our perception is never entirely open (and that itself is good to know) but we can create more flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity.
What old frames are you willing to let go of?
