Balsamic Moon in Gemini: Sacrifice

posted in: Balsamic Moon, Gemini | 0

This afternoon, we reach the closing of the lunar cycle, the Balsamic phase. Here we release what is no longer needed, to prepare for the coming New Moon.
🌘
The Moon at 20 Gemini is semi square the Leo Sun, who continues to trine Chiron and square Uranus. Now the Moon has passed her opposition to Jupiter and trine to Mars. Instead, she squares Eris, the chaos goddess.

How does lighthearted Gemini function in this role of letting go? Part of the answer lies in understanding the third decan of Gemini, the final 10 degrees. This is the place where duality must be resolved, usually through the death of one of the twins (Coppock’s 36 Faces).
🌘
Yet this is a healing loss, because the divide is mended. The process may be difficult but the result is resolution. In ancient tales, the two become one.
🌘
We’re also reaching the time of harvest festivals, when first fruits are offered to the gods. Each year, John Barleycorn must die, the folk memory of vegetative gods sacrificed at this time.
🌘
Eclipse season brought insights, revelations, and understandings. Now we choose. It is a time of cutting out what no longer serves us, not to deny what has been, but to heal its effects and shift our energy in a new direction.
🌘
Venus has entered Leo to become a warrior queen. She is not afraid to make hard choices.
🌘
To sacrifice is to make sacred. Balsam is a healing resin, an astringent. It helps heal wounds and helps us breathe, let go, and rest.
