Overnight tonight, in the early hours before dawn, we reach the Balsamic Moon.
This Taurus Moon will make a semisquare to the Sun in Cancer, the signal we are entering the phase of letting go.
The Moon rises in these predawn hours, a slim crescent disappearing each day. She reminds us that we too ought to be paring down, releasing, allowing, and resting. This is not a time for striving or beginning new things.
As she enters the Balsamic phase, the Moon forms a very close trine to Pluto, 22 Taurus to 22 Capricorn.
This releasing phase has the potential to be very deep. There are things in our psyches we have no awareness of. If we can allow the Moon and Pluto to work, they may shift and change on their own.
With Pluto in the mix, resistance is often futile. Instead of moving into the stubborn, dig-in-my-heels quality of Taurus, we can opt instead for the indulgence of self care. Body work, baths, deep breathing, meditation––all these can bear great fruit.
With the Moon in a Venus-ruled sign, hidden springs of creativity can also be tapped. We may feel the stirrings. It’s best not to press, but rather to allows, making open-ended notes and dreamy sketches.
If the Taurus Moon moves you to clean out drawers and closets, that’s fine too. Honor Venus by including Marie Kondo’s question, “Does this bring me joy?”
Honor the influence of Pluto by considering, “Does this bring meaning?”
The New Moon eclipse will soon be here. We are preparing. With this Balsamic Moon, though, the most important preparation may happen outside our conscious awareness. Let it happen.
