Before dawn tomorrow, we slip into the Balsamic phase with the Moon in Virgo. The Moon disappears from the sky in a quiet time of release and preparation.
Yet this is a complex chart pulling us in the depths.
Mercury in Scorpio, ruling the Moon, opposes Uranus in Taurus. Deep insights into upcoming changes are here if we care to look, with no promise we’ll be comfortable with what we see.
Mercury also moves into trines with Mars and Neptune, creating a Grand Trine in Water. This places Uranus at the apex of a Kite pattern, sextiling Mars and Neptune.
Will important changes emerge from the emotional depths and esoteric spaces of the Water signs?
The Sun separates from the ongoing Mars–Pluto opposition. This Scorpio Sun forms a T-square with both the ancient and modern rulers of the sign, as if highlighting a connection we’re meant to notice.
I’m again thinking of deep change.
Venus is out of bounds in lively Sagittarius. She’d love to explore new, exotic places, except she’s tightly square Saturn. So Venus cannot venture as far as she might prefer. With Saturn in Pisces, will inner spaces be explored instead?
The Moon is tightly square Jupiter in Gemini. This brings a lively curiosity to the Virgo Moon, usually content to sit on the sidelines.
This Moon also sextiles Mercury and will soon participate in the trines and sextiles making up the Kite formation. The Moon will be trine Uranus, oppose Neptune, and trine Pluto, creating a Grand Trine in Earth with Neptune at its apex.
The two Grand Trines that are really Kites are themselves linked in a mystical rectangle, with Mars, Pluto, the Moon, and Neptune forming the four corners.
These next days (and nights) are times of insight. Expect intense dreams, fruitful meditations, and deep journalling. However you explore your inner spaces, this is an excellent time to dive in.
Also, important during a Balsamic Moon, Austin Coppock notes in 36 Faces that the last decan of Virgo with a waning Moon is a great time for detox.
Let’s combine self care for body, mind, psyche, and soul as we prepare for the New Moon in Scorpio.
