Just after 6 pm tonight, we enter the Balsamic Moon phase. This is the quiet dark before a New Moon, the final days when we review, reflect, and release.
We feel the depth of Scorpio’s shadowy waters around us.
Yesterday, the Sun entered Scorpio as the Moon entered Virgo. This waning sextile offered a view of how much the world, and we, have changed.
At that sextile, Mars squared the Nodes of the Moon: the past and present are likewise changing.
The Balsamic phase opens with a semisquare that could have a David and Goliath feel: What can humble Virgo say to the dark power of Scorpio?
There is much to say and hear. The Moon is not alone. As she challenges the Sun, she opposes Neptune. Is this courageous or foolhardy?
Neither. It is simply the next step. At the heart of Virgo is this ability to do the next thing with clarity.
The Moon also trines the Capricorn group. Support from ancestors here and the feel of standing on solid ground.
Mars squares Saturn. If this is arm wrestling, Saturn wins. Saturn is mighty in Capricorn and exalted in Libra, while Mars is not happy where he is. Maybe treat this contest as a friendly test of strength and a chance to learn something.
In aspect to Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, the Nodes, and the Scorpio Sun, this Moon is surrounded by power and prophecy. What do we do?
We could collapse and hide, giving way to Virgoan anxiety––and miss a wonder-filled opportunity.
Instead, be practical. On the threshold of mystery, what is your question? Frame it carefully. What, precisely, do you need to know to prepare for the New Moon in Scorpio?
What will help you consolidate what you have learned? What do you seek to understand so you can step into the next cycle?
Prepare. Perhaps you create a ritual. Lay out some cards. Make an altar. When you’re ready, ask the question.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
