Crescent Moon in Libra: Little Things

Late tonight, Venus and Mercury meet at 03º43’ Virgo. Mercury retrograde is informed by the principles of Venus: harmony, pleasure, relationship, peace.

Thursday morning, the Moon enters Libra, trines Pluto, then reaches the semisquare with the Sun that signals the Crescent Moon.

We’re figuring out what we want to do during this cycle.

The Moon in Libra seeks beauty and balance. As Venus (ruler of this Moon) sits with a retrograde Mercury, our attention moves to little things.

When events on the world stage seem huge, how does focusing on little things make sense?

One is, we live in small moments. This is why I’m drawn to following the lunar cycle.

Sure, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are game changers but we live our days and hours on a smaller scale. If we lose touch with our breath, get activated , or can’t get good sleep, we don’t manage the big things well.

“The little things? The little moments? They aren’t little.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn

Mercury Rx reminds us to notice. Our memories are filled with the details of life. A child’s smile. The scent of coffee. The sound of crickets on a summer night.

The Big World wants all our attention, demands our time and focus and productivity. Yet it’s the details that stick. The smell of a library. The feeling of a wet bathing suit against our skin. A brilliant sunset.

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” – Vincent Van Gogh

Even if we sense into the Moon–Pluto trine, we still come up against the very small. Solving the world’s most challenging issues often revolves around seeing the details in a new way.

“It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.” – Arthur Conan Doyle

Big Picture Thinking can only carry us so far. We still need to put one foot in front of the other and choose a direction.

Yes, big things are happening. For the next few days, let them.

Focus on what is right before your eyes. Notice the small pleasures and vibrant details your life is made of. Make the most of Mercury Rx with Venus.
