We’ve entered the Crescent Phase. This semisquare from Moon to Sun is the first challenge as the Moon grows in light.
The Moon entered Sagittarius yesterday evening to gallop through the night. Were your dreams active? Mine were, though I can barely remember them. It poured rain here, obscuring any view of the Moon’s soft emerging light.
We reach the time of the Crescent Moon to face our goals and plans for this waxing cycle. We’re out on the open road, our journey underway.
This Sag Moon will soon conjunct Jupiter and Ceres. This is a strong moment. She joins these two at the end of Jupiter’s home sign.
Here we face what must be done. The heroic enthusiasm of early Sag carried us through the night. In the light of the emerging crescent, we see what it will take to reach our goals. Are we ready?
This Crescent phase asks: Are we truly committed to our New Moon goals? It could be trickier, more daunting, than we thought.
An important question is, have we left the previous cycle behind us? Dane Rudhyar says we may feeling haunted by anything we have not truly released.
Today is Halloween, so haunting seems apt. The veils between the worlds are thin and will remain so through November 7, when the Sun reaches 15 Scorpio. Ancestors can offer support as well as reminders of what is undone. We are likely to feel both.
There is another kind of haunting today. In two hours, Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio. This is a time when we turn toward the past. We revisit, review, reflect, revise.
Tonight, the Moon enters pragmatic Capricorn, where the South Node, Saturn, and Pluto await with more messages about what must be done.
This Crescent phase will feel more thoughtful than most. We’re beginning a new, growing phase and yet the past is very much with us. We will move forward best if we recognize calls from the past rather than ignore them.
