Disseminating Moon in Capricorn: Taking Stock

posted in: Capricorn, Disseminating Moon | 0

Overnight, we’ll enter the Disseminating phase. This is the time after the Full Moon when we sort out what we’ve learned and figure out what happens next.

At the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we answered the call to adventure, embarking on a journey into the unknown with confidence and energy.

Now the Moon is late Capricorn is wondering what we’ve gotten ourselves into. Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, is not a place where the Moon feels cozily at home. Instead, we’re out on the open road. Sleeping under the stars doesn’t seem so exciting when we’ve got rocks under our hips and shoulders.

The Moon forms a sesquiquadrate, a square-and-a-half, to the Sun at the opening of this phase. The Sun sits with Venus and Jupiter, all three newly arrived in Gemini.

This is a big shift in energy from slow, steady Taurus. Now we’re flying high, expecting all good things to rain from the heavens. As we began our Full Moon adventure, our minds exploded with exciting possibilities we can’t wait to explore.

Yet the Moon, conjunct fiercely maternal Ceres, looks askance at all this. Questions like “where are we actually going?” “Does anyone have a map?” and “How much food did we pack?” keep coming up.

Mars in Aries applies to conjunct Chiron in Aries. The Moon and Ceres are squaring these two. The Mars–Chiron conjunction will show us some of the costs of impulsive action. Moon–Ceres tries to head some of this off by suggesting everyone slow down and take stock.

This Disseminating Moon might feel like Mom is raining on our exciting parade, but these are questions worth asking.

The excitement generated by a Sun–Venus–Jupiter conjunction in Gemini is wonderful. We’re curious, wide awake, and ready to play. But do we actually know where we’re headed? Are we clear on the goal? Do we have what we need?

This Moon wants us to slow down long enough to be sure we’re not heading right over a cliff. Instead of feeling annoyed and resisting the message, just do it.

These next few days are a great time to check in with plans and supplies. It’s worth doing.
