Tuesday night, we enter the First Quarter phase with the Moon at 08º Cancer squaring the Sun at 08º Aries. Once again, we’re reminded that while our goals feel urgent, moving too fast will create more problems than it solves.
If the message of the Crescent Moon in Taurus was “don’t rush,” the message of this First Quarter is “don’t leave anyone behind.”
During the First Quarter, we build capacity to reach the goals we’ve chosen. The Moon in Cancer wants to be sure that skill list includes caring for others, especially those we count as family.
The Moon separates from a conjunction with Mars in Cancer. The planet of action has been enlisted in this process of getting to the goal through nurturing.
The Sun moves closer to Jupiter. March 29, Jupiter disappears from the night sky as they slip under the beams of the Sun.
We may lose sight of our long term perspective as Jupiter prepares for their annual renewal. The Moon in Cancer prefers to focus close to home. This is fine for now. We need our base to feel secure.
March 30, Mars trines Saturn–one more “slow down” message. Both planets are in Water signs, where neither feels at their best. When we can’t see our way clearly, perhaps emotions are coming up, so take the time to process.
Also on March 30, a few hours after the trine, we’re reminded “slow” does not mean”stop.” Venus will conjunct Uranus. Our values, creativity, and relationships align with the agent of radical change.
Venus and Uranus meet at 16º Taurus, which both echoes and previews eclipses.
What came up for you at the Full Moon eclipse on November 8, 2022? This total lunar eclipse took place at 16º Taurus.
We may also preview this year’s lunar eclipse during the Full Moon in Scorpio on May 5, taking place at 14º Scorpio. Both eclipses tie into this Venus–Uranus conjunction.
March 31, we close the month with a trine between the Sun and Moon, 10º 51’ Aries and Leo. We’re on the path toward our goals, still on fire. The Leo Moon applies to square Venus and Uranus in Taurus. We’re figuring out how to say yes to slow growth while giving free rein to our passionate creativity.
Throughout it all, taking care of ourselves and those we love is the key.
