Tomorrow, we enter the First Quarter phase, the square between the Sun and Moon that marks the halfway point between the New Moon and the Full.
This is a mystical First Quarter Moon at the end of Pisces, conjunct Neptune and sextile Pluto, along with the square to the Sun.
At the end of Pisces, all is dissolving. This is the end of the zodiac, the place where we come apart to begin the process of reassembling into something brand new in Aries.
The First Quarter is a time of taking action, although this vibe is more ‘being’ than ‘doing.’ We find ourselves in a place of dreams.
The ancient Greeks spoke of dreams as true and prophetic, or false and deceptive, based on whether they entered through the Gate of Horn (truth) or the Gate of Ivory (deception). The nights of this phase will be excellent ones for recording dreams, as long as we’re aware their meanings might remain elusive.
Within this phase, there are three important events, all on December 21.
Venus reaches her exact opposition to Uranus. The Sun enters Capricorn at the Winter Solstice. Mercury reaches their conjunction with the Sun.
This year’s Solstice chart is a magical one. I’ll explore it further in another post. Our task on entering this First Quarter is to prepare for the Solstice and its attendant events.
How’s your dream life? Do you explore visionary experiences? It’s time to revisit this part of our lives.
Also in this chart, Mercury retrograde in Capricorn trines Jupiter retrograde in Taurus.
Dreams are not separate from our physical lives. Our dreaming selves are reflected in and supported by the world around us. There is no separation, especially not now.
How can we explore the differences between dreams true and false? Connection to the world of nature can help.
