First Quarter Moon in Virgo: Discerning

Overnight Thursday, we’ll enter the First Quarter phase with the Moon at the end of Virgo. We’re in a time of discernment, choosing carefully what we will, and will not, do.

This Moon squares the Sun–Mercury–Venus conjunction, a Virgo-to-Gemini connection that could feel agitating. This much Gemini can feel overstimulating and off balance.

Since Mercury and Venus remain hidden by the Sun, we can wait. We can feel the bright, upbeat Gemini mood, and wait for more info before taking action.

The Moon separates from an opposition with Saturn, as the Sun–Mercury–Venus group separates from a square.

Yes, this is a T-square, and presents another reason to be cautious.

Pisces and Gemini have wildly different perspectives, from the wide angle, deep focus, cosmic view of Pisces to the up close, macro lens of Gemini. Saturn calls for responsible, careful action. Sun–Mercury–Venus, filled with new inspiration, want to shine as brightly as they can.

Meanwhile, the challenging depths revealed by the Pluto–Mars square are fading, but still strong enough to be felt.
