Last Quarter Moons challenge us to change and adapt. So much is happening, we first need to pause and review.
Since Monday’s Waning Trine, the Moon entered Aquarius to conjunct Saturn, then trined Mercury. Mars reached the end of Aquarius to trine the North Node, then slipped into Pisces.
Venus, moving very slowly, turned retrograde @ 21 Gemini. She will remain retrograde until late June. Venus’ shift means she will reach another exact trine to Neptune, drifting through Pisces.
With these changes, the Last Quarter Moon creates a curious, suspended state. The urgent challenges of the world are no less. In fact, every news bulletin seems to herald another disaster. Yet we might find ourselves feeling detached, even dreamy.
Mars needs to find his sea legs in Pisces. This is not a place of strength for him. He prefers the direct. Pisces is anything but. He likes clear direction and that’s not just not happening. He will need to become more reflective, more patient, and potentially more spiritual.
Venus is in bright, curious, social Gemini but now retrograde. She’s also in conversation with Neptune and looking inward. We may find ourselves questioning our current social options and desires, looking at relationships in new ways, and finding things shift unexpectedly.
The Sun and Moon are in fixed signs, Taurus and Aquarius. Neither of these is know for speed either.
There’s an interesting pattern: The Aquarius Moon trines Venus and the North Node, exploring the curious, clever, future-oriented Gemini vibe with new plans. Meanwhile, the steady Taurus Sun trines Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn, preferring to commune with the solid, predictable past.
It feels like a kind of reflection not only of past and future but also Earth and Air, stasis and movement, old and young.
Our ideals can only be realized when well grounded. We are meaning-makers and story tellers. Our understanding of reality deepens when informed by ideals.
It’s time to check in with the match between our ideals and reality. Do we need a new vision?
