Overnight tonight, Mars leaves the slow, steady pace of Taurus to take wing in Gemini. The action planet prefers the quick cleverness of this Air sign, but still doesn’t have a lot of power. Mars gets a boost on take off, though, from Jupiter in Aries: There’s a mutual reception based on decan (or face).
Mutual reception is when two planets are in each others’ spaces. You’re in a strange city but it’s your friend’s apartment so you have someone to call. Mars rules the first decan of Aries. Jupiter rules the first decan of Gemini. They talk. They text. It’s cool.
This is an important move for Mars. They’ll be in this sign of mutable Air until March 25, 2023. Yes, you read that right–seven months of Mars in the same sign. So you know there’s a retrograde in there, keeping Mars looping through the sign of curiosity, innovative thinking, and more data than we know what to do with.
It’ll feel good on lift off. Mars has been in some heavy company lately. We’ve felt held back, bogged down, and limited to long range plans and slow action–not Mars’ happy place.
Don’t overdo it. Taking off with too steep a trajectory could make us dizzy.
The Moon leads the way into Gemini. Has stepped in, in fact, so we’re already feeling new Air under our wings. As we reach the Mars ingress, this Moon slips out of bounds, adding a squirrelly, unusual, let’s-just-do-it vibe.
How this feels to you depends on your birth chart. The Moon–Mars combo could entice heavy thoughts into happier channels.
If you’re already a bit outside the box, the Moon and Mars might lead you farther into the innovative and curiously odd.
The key is sensing this change in the cosmic winds and setting your sails accordingly.
