Mercury and Mars Square Saturn: Point of View

posted in: Celestial Event | 0

We’re still in the Crescent phase today, moving into the First Quarter tomorrow. Today will be a fascinating experiment in perspective taking.

We’ll go through the day with some challenging squares. Approaching them as opportunities to try on different points of view will be interesting and productive (as opposed to frustrating).

As I write this, Mercury and Mars are conjunct. Exactly conjunct at 7 22 Scorpio. Keep in mind, though, that these two planets–mind and body, perception and action, thought and will–are conjunct all day. They remain really close.

This second decan of Scorpio is one of mutuality. Mercury and Mars can exchange today, sharing experiences of the psyche, secrets, the taboo. We can think about what we feel. Reflect on what we’ve done. Act on what we perceive.

Today, Mercury first and then Mars will square Saturn. Notice again though that these squares are already in play. Mars and Mercury square Saturn all day. It’s happening now.

We are meant to notice this. The Moon sits with Saturn. All day. We’re invited to open our minds and feel how other perspectives land in our bodies.

Saturn in Aquarius is strict, principled, driven by principle and planning for the long term. Uninterested in the messy goings on under the hood. Does not want to hear about fears or trauma, occult messages or secrets.

Today, though, Saturn will need to listen. In traditional astrology, Mercury and Mars will be heard because they are in the early zodiacal signs. They are overcoming Saturn.

Uncomfortable things might come up today. Ideas that don’t fit our carefully constructed worldview. Evidence that perhaps our interpretation of things might be wrong. Feelings that demand attention.

If you are the messenger, delivering difficult news, understand that what you say could meet with resistance today.

To get the most out of today’s patterns, listen. Open your mind and hear to what, perhaps, you’d rather not hear. Take in another point of view.
