Soon Mercury will slip into Libra, joining Venus and the Sun in this sign of harmony, advocacy, and relating.
Mercury is very strong in Virgo, so this shift represents a loss in power for the planet of perception, processing, and communication. Yet Mercury does well in the Air signs, which lift us into realms of ideas. Mercury here may be less practical than in Virgo, but can create beautiful castles in the air.
As soon as Mercury enters, they form an opposition to Jupiter. Here we see the thoughts and exchanges of daily life challenged by systems of knowledge, tradition of wisdom, and expansive perspectives.
Can we create a better experience of life right now based in what we already know? Or must we explore philosophies and values in detail first?
Of course, this opposition is between Aries and Libra, too, so action seems on the table. Perhaps there are ways to ground our actions in wisdom even as we admit our knowledge is (and always will be) imperfect. Sometimes, we must act.
We’re still within the Full Moon phase, as a glance at the night sky will confirm. This Mercury–Jupiter connection echoes the theme of the Full Moon and pushes us to think and to act.
What’s coming up for you? Notice. Keep breathing, but do notice.
We’re on our way to another pair of eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio. Are you feeling the swirling energies already? The upcoming New Moon in Scorpio is a partial solar eclipse that will be visible across Europe and North Africa.
Mercury’s entry into Libra and connection to Jupiter creates openings. We revisit the Aries–Libra polarity of the Full Moon. We have another invitation to explore issues of autonomy and relationship, singular and relational desire.
Accept the opening. Explore.
