Mercury Retrograde in Libra and Virgo: Twirl

posted in: Retrograde | 0

Tonight, Mercury will stop, turn, and begin retracing their steps through the zodiac. We already know this is coming because Mercury has been slowing, slowing, slowing this last week.

Time for us to pause as well, slowing our perceiving, processing, and communicating.

Happening so close to the Full Moon, with the Moon in Pisces close to Neptune, we anticipate a softening, a blurring. Details might seem unclear. The picture takes longer to come into focus.

These next weeks, we’ll feel frustrated or anxious to the extent we need precision NOW. Mercury retrogrades are all about the ‘re’ words–perhaps the most important one this time is ‘relax.’

Do we need to know this right now? Does this decision have to be made right now? Maybe it does, so we do our best and trust the outcome will be good. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

The more I look at this retrograde, the more magical it appears. Mercury will dance with Jupiter and Venus, the two planets that connect, expand, encourage, and create.

The dance with Jupiter happens in oppositions, exploring how we balance self and other:

September 2 @ 6° Libra & Aries
September 12 @ 4° Libra & Aries (Mercury Rx)
October 12 @ 1° Libra & Aries

The dance with Venus happens in conjunctions. This one is especially magical, calling back to Venus’ retrograde late last year, and to Mercury’s final retrograde this year in Capricorn:

December 29, 2021 @ 24° Cap (Venus Rx)
September 26 @ 26° Virgo (Mercury Rx)
November 21 @ 7° Sag
December 29, 2022 @ 24° Cap (Mercury station Rx)

That Venus Rx was huge, a deep journey into how we structure relationships, our creativity, and what we value. Mercury reminds us we’re still processing what we experienced then.

Check those dates–it’s not an error. At the end of 2021 and again in 2022, Venus and Mercury meet on the same date in the same degree of Cap.

We’re looping, twirling, gracefully exploring deep territory. Let’s do it with intention and trust.
